Aotearoa Art Fair 2026 Gretchen Albrecht, Matt Arbuckle, Helen Calder, Peata Larkin, Jude Rae, Ann Shelton
30 April - 3 May 2026
Two Rooms launches its presentation with an impressive new sculpture by Peata Larkin. Comissioned for the Aotearoa Art Fair Sculpture Trail, Ka Mau, Ka Ora operates as a threshold into the Fair. In addition to this Peata Larkin has created a new lightbox artwork for the Two Rooms booth in advance of her solo exhibition, Silent Kōrero, at The Art House. Renowned photographer Ann Shelton will be presenting a suite of photographs from her on going series i am an old phenomenon. Jude Rae has produced two exceptional still life paintings especially for the Fair. These will be presented alongside a group of new charcoal works on paper, initiating a shift in subject to architectural interiors. Eminent womenpainters Gretchen Albrecht, and Helen Calder offer large-scale works that focus on architectural form and materiality in rich vibrant colours. Similarly, Matt Arbuckle ambitiously scaled paintings focus on surface and the ephemeral effects of shibori, conjuring up vastness, yet bringing the viewer back to the material.
