Robbie Fraser (Ngati Porou ki Hauraki, b. 1979) works and resides in Tāmaki Makaurau. He graduated from AUT University with a Masters in Art & Design (First Class Honours) in 2013, receiving the Dean’s Award in 2014. He was also a founding member of FERARI, an ex-artist run space based in Grey Lynn. Ongoing and recurrent themes include: Things that look and sound like other things, Painting as Object, Repitition and Recidivism, The Accidentally-On-Purpose, Colour and it’s Relationships and Exactitude, Rectitude and Attitude. Recent shows include Woke Up(2020) at Sosage, Auckland, Endless Startless (2020) at Precinct 35, Wellington, Some New New Zealand Painting at Broker, Queenstown (2021) and We Have A Real Problem At Home The Ducks Won’t Leave Us Alone Leave The Door Open And They Come Inside Wake Up And They Are Looking Through The Window I’m Gonna Have To Do Something I Can Tell You It’s No Joke at Satchi & Satchi & Satchi, Auckland (2022).
