Anton Parson’s Foot – pound – second, a reference to Imperial measurements, presents language in it’s most complex, yet reductionist form. This exhibition is comprised of sculptures embracing solidity of form and bright primary colours. Aluminium, stainless steel and plastic are the working materials.
Numerical sequences or braille-like protrusions give the possibility of a hidden message or an encrypted code. Rather than providing a literal translation of the work, Parson’s leaves the audience with an offer of engagement, an openness to interpret the work, and awards the viewer the possibility of creating his or her own message. A wealth of information lies beneath the elements. There are no boundaries.
